3 Days Budget Camping Safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast in Arusha, depart with your professional safari guide for Tarangire National Park, approximately two hours away. Renowned for its giant baobab trees and large elephant populations, Tarangire offers incredible wildlife viewing throughout the year. Upon arrival, begin an exciting game drive across the park’s diverse habitats, where you may encounter elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, and numerous bird species. Day 2: Tarangire Area – Ngorongoro Crater

Following breakfast at the campsite, depart for the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Descend approximately 600 metres into the crater floor for a spectacular game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater boasts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife, including black rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, zebras, and hippos. The fertile crater floor provides outstanding wildlife viewing throughout the year. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool while admiring the dramatic scenery. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater walls and proceed to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park for your final safari experience. Nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, lush groundwater forests, and diverse birdlife. Embark on a game drive through varied ecosystems including forest, open grassland, and lakeshore habitats. Look out for elephants, baboons, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and thousands of flamingos depending on the season. The park also hosts over 400 bird species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. After enjoying a picnic lunch and final game viewing opportunities, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
