7-Day Tanzania Safari & Kilimanjaro

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari representative and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Situated at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha serves as the gateway to Tanzania’s famous Northern Safari Circuit. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing after your journey while enjoying the lodge’s beautiful surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the gardens, relax by the pool, or prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening, your guide will provide a safari briefing before dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its giant baobab trees and impressive elephant herds. Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse habitats while searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and numerous antelope species. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife throughout the year, making it one of Tanzania’s most rewarding safari destinations. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by spectacular scenery. Continue your afternoon game drive before travelling to your lodge near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Area – Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, journey through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin your first exciting game drive while searching for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes. The endless plains offer exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities and stunning photographic scenery. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing your exploration. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in the evening for dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day exploring Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Morning and afternoon game drives provide excellent opportunities to observe predators, large grazing herds, and diverse birdlife. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Search for lion prides, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and countless other species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your safari adventure. As the sun sets across the endless plains, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Continue searching for wildlife while taking advantage of the beautiful morning light. Later, begin your journey towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the route, enjoy additional wildlife sightings and breathtaking scenery. After a picnic lunch, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and arrive at your lodge overlooking the highlands. Relax and enjoy spectacular views before dinner and overnight while preparing for the next day’s crater safari.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi

Following an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife and offers excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five. Explore the crater floor while searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and hyenas. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery before ascending the crater walls. In the afternoon, travel to Moshi, the gateway town to Mount Kilimanjaro. Check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the mountain experience.

Day 7: Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike – Departure

After an early breakfast, drive to the Marangu Gate of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Following registration, begin a guided hike through the lush rainforest zone of Africa’s highest mountain. The trail leads to Mandara Hut at an altitude of approximately 2,700 metres, offering beautiful scenery, waterfalls, unique vegetation, and opportunities to spot monkeys and colourful birds. Enjoy a packed lunch at the hut before descending back to the gate. Upon completion of the hike, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania Safari and Kilimanjaro Experience.
